As the autumn draws near, the chill hinted by a light drizzle remains.  On September 23rd, MU Group’s First Sports Meeting and Inauguration Ceremony of the “Hundred-Regiment Campaign” were held in Ningbo and Yiwu respectively.  More than 2,700 MUers gathered together to participate in the grand event and in welcoming Hangzhou Asian Games!

This was also a solemn inauguration ceremony.  At the track-and-field ground of Ningbo University and Yiwu Meihu Sports Center, we officially sounded the “Hundred-Regiment Campaign”.  President Tom Tang, along with group leaders Jeff Luo, Amenda Weng, Amanda Chen, and Sam Zhu, attended the event in Ningbo, while William Wang attended the event in Yiwu.  Henry Xu and Eric Zhuang were absent due to business trips.

The inauguration ceremony officially began with the stirring national anthem.  10 square teams stood in formation, flags flying high, and resounding vows such as “Harangue Troops and Set Out for Victory! ” and “Achieve Goals, Unleash Potential, and Be Invincible! ” “Victory!  Victory!  Victory! ” echoed in the air.  Thousands of people shouted the oath, demonstrating their determination to win!

In motivational speech, Tom Tang stated that MU Group proposes “MU in sports, live beyond 102 years old”, hoping that every MUer can find a sport they love in the group and that sports meeting will be held annually in the future, ensuring this tradition continues.  The sports meeting and oath-taking rally seems like formalism, but looking back 20 years later, everyone will have different feelings.  Today, the content and methods of our striving have undergone significant changes.  Striving has become more complex, and it has also become more uncertain.  We must strive online, on social media, in digitization, in technological applications, and in IT applications.  The “Hundred-Regiment Campaign” is the finale of the past twenty years, and it is also the last hundred days of these twenty years!  Because of trust, we have companionship.  Because of persistence, we have had such a different twenty years!

Preparations were made with full dedication as all MUers attentively listened to the rules of sports meeting and warmed up under the guidance of fitness coaches.  Everything was ready, awaiting the commencement of the games!  The sports meeting included track and field events such as running, high jump, and long jump, as well as team events like relay races, tug of war, and frisbee.  There were also fun competition like “Daredevil Business Team” “Thousand-People Marching” and “Hundred-Regiment Campaign”.  Additionally, there were individual events like sit-ups and planking.  The games spanned one day.

Speed and passion are performed here, and spirit of sportsmanship is interpreted here.  With the sound of whistle cutting through the air, sprinters dash towards the finish line like arrows released from a bow;  long-distance runners maintain steady strides, sweating on the track;  relay race participants passed the relay baton like handing on the torch, running towards victory and hope.

With adjusted postures and accumulated strength, athletes leaped into the air, drawing graceful arcs in high jump and long jump events.  They demonstrated great determination to reach higher and farther, pushing their limits.

On the green grass, a series of activities combining amusement, entertainment, and competition took turns to begin.  It was a test of strength, intelligence, and teamwork.  The atmosphere at the scene was tense and lively.  The cheering broadcast continuously echoes with cheers, applause and accolades, and the smiling faces of MUers were as brilliant as flowers.

Adhering to a long-term perspective and striving for perfection, participants in the plank competition persevered with determination and belief, encouraged and challenged by their colleagues.  Those participating in sit-ups and speed skipping were equally determined, enduring sore waists and legs, persisting until the final second.

Concentrate the effort in “rope”, and fly with youth in “frisbee”.  In the tug-of-war and frisbee preliminary rounds, teams that stood out came together for the final battle.  Each run, each cheer, and each drop of sweat demonstrated their coordination and team spirit.

In the end, the top 3 winners of 17 sporting events were decided in Ningbo and Yiwu respectively.  The victorious moment shone brightly on the awards podium, as bonus, medals, and trophies served as the greatest affirmation and motivation for the fighters’ efforts!

Twilight breeze brushed through the forest, and the event concluded amidst the cheers of “MU in Sports” marking the beginning of a new “Hundred-Regiment Campaign”. With strengthening physique and prospering thinking, MUers will go all out in the fierce battle of snatching orders and expanding markets in the upcoming hundred days. The final showdown in 2023, infinite prospects at the perilous peak!
