On July 22, GUANGZHOU MARKET UNION IMP. & EXP. CO., LTD. INAUGURATION — MU GROUP IN GUANGDONG 20TH ANNIVERSARY was held at The Westin Guangzhou.

The event was attended by Chen Yu, Deputy Mayor of Haizhu District People’s Government; Mai Mengmeng, Director of the Haizhu District Bureau of Science, Industry, Commerce and Information Technology; Luo Yuan, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Pazhou Subdistrict; Tom Tang, President of MU Group; Conan Wu, Deputy Political Commissar of the Guangzhou Operation Center; Vincent Yang, Senior Director of Market Union; Michael Liang, Director Manager of Market Union; as well as all colleagues from the Guangzhou Operation Center.

Government officials and enterprise representatives jointly performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony, officially marking the inauguration of Guangzhou Market Union Imp. & Exp. Co., Ltd. and opening a new chapter for MU Group’s next twenty years in Guangdong!

Deputy Mayor Chen Yu first extended his sincere congratulations on the inauguration of the new company. He noted that the global trend toward the digitalization of international trade has become increasingly evident. Haizhu District is focusing on the development of the digital economy and modern commerce. In the first half of the year, the district’s total foreign trade imports and exports increased by 22.6% year on year, ranking first among all districts in Guangzhou. Leveraging the dual advantages of the Pazhou Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy Pilot Zone and its well-established exhibition resources, the integrated development of online and offline foreign trade continues to gain momentum.

He pointed out that MU Group’s development strategy is highly aligned with Haizhu District’s commitment to developing digital trade and facilitating international commercial connectivity. Haizhu District will continue improving the ecosystem for digital foreign trade, strengthening supporting industries, and providing comprehensive support for enterprise development. He sincerely welcomed more foreign trade and cross-border e-commerce enterprises to establish operations in Pazhou and Haizhu, seize the development opportunities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and work together to build a more dynamic digital trade industrial cluster.

Conan Wu reviewed the Group’s twenty-year journey in Guangdong. What began as a business focused solely on market procurement has gradually developed into a mature operation driven by both traditional international trade and cross-border e-commerce. He emphasized that the past twenty years represent not only a milestone but also a brand-new starting point. Looking ahead, the Guangzhou team will stay focused on becoming the leading regional operation and embark on a new journey together.

Vincent Yang pointed out that the cross-border industry has long moved beyond extensive operational models. Today, core competitiveness lies in category specialization, product iteration, and supply chain capabilities. The Guangzhou team will continue to deepen its presence in the local market, strengthen its foundation in the tools category, collaborate with the automotive parts business and emerging product categories, and use products and supply chain capabilities as key drivers to implement the Group’s strategy and contribute toward The Road to USD 10 Billion three-year development goal.

Michael Liang shared his reflections based on the development of the cross-border e-commerce team over the past two years. He said that the team’s rapid business growth has benefited not only from the Group’s strategic direction, but also from the region’s well-established industrial supply chains and excellent business environment. Cross-border e-commerce is not simply about selling products overseas; it is also about building Chinese brands in the global market and enhancing the value of Made in China. He expressed his pride in being part of this journey and his confidence in the future.

President Tom Tang delivered a keynote speech titled “THE NEXT 20 YEARS, STRIVING FOR NO.1 IN GUANGDONG” He recalled that just last month, Feng Zhonghua, Secretary of the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee, and Cai Shu, Secretary of the Haizhu District Party Committee, successively visited the Group’s Yiwu Operation Headquarters and Guangzhou Operation Center, bringing great encouragement to the company. The inauguration of Guangzhou Market Union Imp. & Exp. Co., Ltd. therefore carries special significance.

Tom Tang noted that as early as 2006, the Group had already begun planning its nationwide expansion by establishing localized operations in Guangdong. Since then, MU Group has successively expanded into Yangjiang, Guangzhou, Shantou, and Shenzhen. Today, the Guangzhou operation has developed into three major business segments: market procurement, traditional international trade, and cross-border e-commerce. Leveraging the mature industrial clusters of the Pearl River Delta, together with Guangzhou’s strengths in fabrics, luggage, garments, fashion accessories, and other local industries, the team continues expanding into a full range of product categories and serving customers around the world.

He then posed the question, “What is MU Group’s battle that must be won?” He answered that becoming the No. 1 company in the industry is the Group’s ultimate goal, and that Guangzhou and Shenzhen are the battles that must be won. Likewise, apparel—one of Guangzhou’s strongest industries—is also a strategic category that MU Group must excel in.

Tom Tang pointed out that in the first half of the year, Shenzhen ranked far ahead in export performance, followed by Shanghai, Suzhou, Ningbo, Jinhua, Dongguan, and Guangzhou. For MU Group, if the company aims to prove itself as an outstanding enterprise, it must first become the No. 1 in Guangzhou and Shenzhen before it can aspire to become the No. 1 in China. As this year also marks MU Group’s 20th anniversary in Guangdong, he described everyone present as the founding colleagues of the Guangzhou company and called on the entire team to embrace the next twenty years with determination and strive together to achieve new breakthroughs in Guangdong.

The event concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony to commemorate MU Group’s 20-year journey in Guangdong, celebrate the achievements of its localized development, and look ahead together toward The Road to USD 10 Billion.
