On February 28th, Song Yinzhai, Deputy Mayor and Director of the Public Security Bureau of Yiwu City, led a delegation to MU Group’s Yiwu Financial Business Workspace, where they were received by Tom Tang, the Group’s President.
Deputy Mayor Song first visited the office and product showroom of Group’s Financial Business Workspace, during which he conducted research on the group’s export-related activities. Tom Tang introduced that in 2023, the group’s total export volume reached $1.5 billion, with 3,200 colleagues, and total office and warehouse space exceeding 250,000 square meters. In 2022, MU Group began concentrating resources on digital transformation of international trade business, vigorously developing cross-border e-commerce business, positioning this direction as the group’s sole strategic focus for the next decade. Group plans to have over 8,000 colleagues engaged in export trade and cross-border e-commerce by 2026, with annual self-operated exports and cross-border e-commerce business scale exceeding $5 billion. This also means maintaining a compound growth rate of 50% in business scale and personnel for three consecutive years, presenting both challenges and opportunities.
During the subsequent symposium, Deputy Mayor Song addressed the practical operational challenges encountered by the group in Yiwu, providing answers and guiding opinions on-site. He emphasized the importance of cooperation between the police and enterprise, proposing the establishment of police-enterprise service stations to assist in solving a series of problems encountered in market procurement and trade, as well as advocating and preemptively mitigating issues such as foreign trade enterprises’ easy involvement in issues like foreign exchange collection, leakage of business secrets, and occupational encroachment, effectively assisting enterprises in resolving potential risks and supporting leading international trade enterprises to grow stronger.
Having rooted and cultivated in Yiwu for 25 years, Yiwu Operation Center of MU Group has developed into one of the largest international trade export groups in Jinhua and Yiwu. Yiwu Operation Center now has more than ten wholly-owned and holding subsidiaries and business divisions engaged in international trade exports, employing nearly 1,200 export trade colleagues, with office and showroom space exceeding 40,000 square meters and logistics space exceeding 25,000 square meters. The MU Yiwu Building in Financial and Business District has a total construction area of 85,500 square meters and is expected to be completed and put into use in the second half of 2024, capable of accommodating the office needs of 5,000 people simultaneously.
