On July 2, a delegation of leaders led by Cai Shu, Secretary of the Haizhu District Party Committee of Guangzhou, visited the Guangzhou Operation Center for research and survey. Tom Tang, President of MU Group, warmly received them. Conan Wu, Deputy Political Commissar of the Guangzhou Operation Center, Vincent Yang, Senior Director of MU, and Michael Liang, Director Manager, attended the event.\

President Tang introduced that the predecessor of the Guangzhou Operation Center was the Yangjiang Office of MU Group (founded in 2006). It was relocated to Guangzhou in 2008 and is now rooted in the core exhibition area of Pazhou. It is building a year-round permanent showroom in the Canton Fair Tower to create a “Never-ending Canton Fair” and efficiently connect with global merchant resources. The localized business in Guangzhou has currently formed three major sectors: market procurement, traditional foreign trade, and cross-border e-commerce. Relying on the mature industrial chain clusters of the Pearl River Delta and Guangzhou’s local characteristic advantages in fabrics, bags, and apparel accessories, it is expanding its all-category business and global market. Every year, we invest in over 200 Canton Fair booths and fully utilize the fragmented time during the closing and resting periods of the Canton Fair to attract traffic and acquire customers through all channels, both online and offline. He suggested that major wholesale markets in Haizhu District, Guangzhou, should learn from the openness and payment term flexibility of the Yiwu market, absorb the operational and governance experience of the Yiwu market, and form a virtuous cycle of “promoting industry through trade and boosting trade through industry,” to drive the overall leap of Guangzhou’s commercial and trade industrial system.

Secretary Cai introduced in detail the Zhongda Fabric Market—the largest fabric market in the country, located in Haizhu District, Guangzhou—as well as the current development status of the garment industry, and engaged in an in-depth exchange on the progress of the integration of exhibition and trade in the Pazhou area. He emphasized that Pazhou, as a core area for contiguous development in Guangzhou, is extremely scarce and has obvious locational advantages. It forms a golden triangle with Zhujiang New Town and the Financial City, and its transportation and commercial facilities are accelerating their improvement. It is fully equipped with the conditions to build a benchmark foreign trade service park. Relevant departments should integrate the resources of customs, taxation, commerce, and investment promotion departments, optimize the whole-process government services of customs clearance, tax rebates, and statistical reporting, ensure that policies are “fully enjoyed,” and assist enterprises in their localized operations in Haizhu, Guangzhou. He hoped that MU, as an industry leader, will join hands in aspects such as the co-construction of the park and the operation of the normalized showroom, to build Pazhou into a never-ending trade highland.
After the symposium, everyone visited and inspected the office buildings under construction in the Pazhou South Area together. Chen Yu, Deputy District Mayor of Haizhu District, Mai Mengmeng, Director of the District Bureau of Science, Industry, Commerce, and Information Technology, Li Qihou, Director of the District Bureau of Statistics, and Luo Yuan, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Pazhou Subdistrict, and others accompanied the visit.
